flee from the wrath to come

Lot and two of his daughters, fleeing the destruction of Sodom

The anger of the Lord is burning white hot against this evil generation in America.  Very soon, and very suddenly, unimaginable destruction is coming.  America has long been under judgment, whereby God has sought to bring this nation to repentance:

"Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!  She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God.  Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow.  Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.  The just LORD is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame.  I have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant.  I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings."  (Zephaniah 3:1-7)
But this nation has not repented.  On the contrary, we have arrived at the place where that wickedness is openly celebrated, in defiance of all restraint.  Even the power of government ~ which God ordained for the security of civil order, has become a tool to overthrow civilization and to oppress the righteous.  The people of America, generally speaking, no longer have the political will, much less the moral will, to resist the overspreading of abominations:
"Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departeth not; the noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of the wheels, and of the pransing horses, and of the jumping chariots.  The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses: because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.  Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.  And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock.  And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?"  (Nahum 3:1-7)
Several years ago, David Wilkerson pointed out that the (blue-colored portion of the) above-quoted Scripture speaks to the abortion holocaust in America, whereby somewhere between 55 -- 100 Million unborn children have been ("legally"!) slaughtered, during the past 40 years.  This is the same generation that has radicalized American culture, which has at last succeeded to bury the dead corpse of nominal, mainstream Christianity beneath monuments of hedonism, perversion, corruption, and more novel expressions of raw insanity (i.e., the federal government's inane ambition to eradicate common sense from the American psyche, related to gender identity).

America's schools ~ from grade schools to graduate schools ~ are rotten to the core.  What once were among the world's mostly widely respected institutions of learning (Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and others), for many years have been leading the charge to destroy every vestige of the Judeo-Christian culture that was "America," and to lay the groundwork for their longed-for New World Utopia.  The products of those schools: the lawyers, judges, and politicians; the doctors of medicine, psychology, and sociology; the professors, teachers, and academic administrators; the policy analysts, think-tank wonks, and writers: they are at the helm of this Titanic ship of State, called America:

Even the so-called "Christian" colleges and universities in America have been subverted; to the best of my knowledge, there is not one such institution in America, which is loyal to Christ.  Thus, the products of those schools ~ America's pastors and church leaders, almost without exception, must be numbered among America's Most Wanted list of malfeasants.  And I am weary of explaining how it is that the Apostasy of the professing Church has been the singular most important cause of America's downfall.

None of American's social institutions is redeemable; but they are all ripe for God's judgment.  Meanwhile millions of professing Christians pooh-pooh and tut-tut the current "bathroom" controversy, especially, where that involves the public schools; yet, I have heard practically nothing in the way of an outcry for Christians to altogether remove their children from those hellish institutions.
"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you"  (2 Corinthians 6:17).
"...know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God"  (James 4:4).
Where do we go from here?

I have labored to urge (what I believe there must be) a faithful Remnant of Christians, to earnestly seek God for heaven-sent Revival.  Whereas I do believe I have seen some movement in that direction, amongst a very small number of persons whom I have had occasion either to know or to observe.  Nevertheless, the alarming smallness of that number, and the apparent lethargy of that movement, is fueling in my spirit a burning sense of God's fierce indignation.  God is furious with the situation in America:
"God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies....  The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.  Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him."  (Nahum 1:2-6).
"To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.  Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.  And their houses shall be turned unto others, with their fields and wives together: for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD.  For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.  They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.  Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD."  (Jeremiah 6:10-15).
America's leaders are not so much the cause of God's judgment, but, rather, they are part of God's judgment against America.  And it is NOT going to get any better, regardless of who may live in the White House next year.  That is, if there is a White House next year; or, if there is a next year.

Angels came down bodily, and physically led Lot out of Sodom.  Tragically, Lot lost almost all of his family members, in the destruction of Sodom, because he would not separate his family from that wicked society until, it was too late.  Centuries after the annihilation of Sodom, Jesus told his disciples that "it shall be more tolerant for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment," than for those who reject the preaching of the Gospel (Matthew  10:15).  As a nation, America has trampled underfoot the Gospel, which was once this country's shield and treasure.  How, then, shall this apostate nation escape the wrath of Almighty God?

Though sometimes the weight of this burden seems almost to press the breath from my body, yet, I cling to the hope of Revival; for, it is our only hope in this world ~ and I believe that God wants to give it.  But in my many years of studying Revival, I have observed that Revival only comes to those who diligently and fervently seek God for the outpouring of his Spirit.  If trouble brought Revival, we would already be having the greatest Revival we've ever seen.  Only prevailing prayer brings Revival.

In the fiery prophecy of Zephaniah, which so forcefully speaks to this present generation, there is a warning given to backsliders, and to those who neglect or refuse to seek the Lord:
"I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the LORD.  I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests; and them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the LORD, and that swear by Malcham; and them that are turned back from the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor enquired for him."  (Zephaniah 1:3-6)
Scripture, in a certain place, refers to Jerusalem as "Sodom and Egypt" (Revelation 11:8), because of its abominable and worldly inhabitants.  We see what God did to Sodom and to Egypt ~ and to Jerusalem.  I tremble, then, when I think of what God must be about to do to America.  The Bible says that even mighty men will "cry there bitterly" (Zephaniah 1:14).

Would to God that men would cry bitterly for Revival, instead.
