The following quotation is from Galen Carey, Vice President of Government Relations, National Association of Evangelicals (NAE):
"When Christians gather for worship on Sundays or for Bible study and fellowship during the week, the political messages they hear are likely to echo in their minds. How should pastors lead their flocks during this time? One viable option is to say nothing at all about politics. The Church’s central task is to make disciples of Jesus Christ; discussing politics can expose [not 'cause'] divisions within the Body of Christ and distract from the core functions of worship, evangelism and discipleship. Most churches want to be safe places where Republicans, Democrats and Independents can gather without being ridiculed or ostracized for their political views." (emphasis added; source: click here)The Bible describes the apostate, End-time "Church" as a "harlot" (whore). Scripture condemns in severest terms that wicked religious enterprise called "Babylon," which through demonic influences seduces people to commit spiritual adultery in departing from the living God to worship something that is not God. Although I oftentimes seek to expose and warn against the dangers of the contemporary, apostate "Church," yet, I am in good company with the writers of Scripture, who were prolific in their denunciations of apostasy (turning from the truth of God), heresy (embracing falsehood), and idolatry (worshipping a 'god' of one's own imagination, but not the true God).
Galen Carey~speaking in his official capacity as an executive of the NAE (which, according to their own website, the "NAE represents more than 45,000 local churches from nearly 40 different denominations, in addition to nondenominational churches"), said that it is a "viable option" for pastors of churches to "say nothing at all about politics." Of course, Carey, as the V.P. of Government Relations for the NAE, is well aware of the conditions attached to churches' and pastors' tax-exempt status, which conditions prohibit pastors and/or churches from attempting in any way to influence any political or legislative activities. That prohibition is explicit and comprehensive ~ to those pastors and churches which voluntarily avail themselves of the government's bribe in the form of tax-exemption.
But Carey did not allude to the threat of losing one's tax-exempt status, when he urged pastors not to speak about "politics." Carey admitted that "discussing politics can expose divisions within the Body of Christ." Thus, Carey hinted at the nature of his real concern, by acknowledging that there already exist divisions within the churches. Carey does not merely pass over that important fact, but he deliberately seeks to cover it up, by urging pastors not to say anything which has the potential to "expose" those divisions!
But what is political speech? It is much more than campaigning for or against candidates for political office. Political speech is that which treats of any subject involving or related to social policy, including but not limited to every function of government.
Carey said that the "core functions" of the church involve "worship, evangelism, and discipleship." Whereas, "discussing politics," according to Carey, "distracts" from those core functions of the church. Let us see.
Who can worship God "in spirit and in truth," who has not first repented of his or her sins and been born-again of the Spirit of God? And how can a church engage in evangelism without preaching repentance from sin as being prerequisite to regeneration? Moreover, how is it then possible to disciple anyone without inculcating all of the doctrines of Scripture? Therefore, it is impossible to carry out what Carey called the "core functions" of the church, apart from preaching and teaching the whole counsel of God's Word.
Does the Bible have nothing to say about human society and social policy? Is Scripture silent concerning such things as: government; marriage; social relationships of a family; reverence for human life; money; business; and a wide range of other subjects which either directly or indirectly have implications for "social policy?" The Bible has much to say, for example, about marriage. Social policy regarding marriage is a "political" subject: as evidenced by the fact that antichrist forces have used political means to corrupt social policy pertaining to marriage! That degenerate state of affairs has directly resulted from the churches' collective silence.
The adulterous, harlot Church has Mr. Carey to thank, for his complicity in the devil's diabolical scheme to silence church leaders. It is no wonder that pastors refrain from discussing topics such as abortion, or sexual immorality, or the dangers of exposing children and youth to anti-Christian indoctrination in the public school system: because, denominational leaders ~ to whom local church pastors are very largely beholden, desperately want not to "expose divisions within the churches." The denominational churches are "profit centers," that is, they are sources of revenue for the larger organization to which they belong. Open discussion of Biblical doctrines which touch upon any number of social issues, as Mr. Carey is well aware, is bound to expose divisions within the churches. And apostate church leaders won't risk to offend and possibly lose anyone who even occasionally gives tithes and/or offerings to the church.
Political Parties publicize their respective political platforms. Here are some excerpts from the platform of the Democratic Party:
- LGBT Rights Democrats applaud last year’s decision by the Supreme Court that recognized LGBT people— like every other American—have the right to marry the person they love.... Democrats will fight for comprehensive federal non- discrimination protections for all LGBT Americans and push back against state efforts to discriminate against LGBT individuals.
- Reproductive Health, Rights, and Justice Democrats are committed to protecting and advancing reproductive health, rights, and justice. We believe unequivocally that every woman should have access to quality reproductive health care services, including safe and legal abortion
No one can support homosexual "marriage" and/or abortion-on-demand, and be a Christian. Yet, the churches are full of professing Christians who condone both of those abominable practices~as a matter of social policy. Yet, they are not all registered Democrats, who do so. But Galen Carey wants pastors to "say nothing at all" about such issues as those. Most pastors are glad to comply with Carey's (ahem..) 'recommendation.'
The NAE, in turn, belongs to an even larger organization, that is, the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA)~which claims to represent nearly 700,000,000 "Evangelical" Christians worldwide. In the photo, below, three of the men (Stiller, Schirrmacher, and Tunnicliffe) standing together with Pope Francis are executives of the WEA:
Here's what the Apostle Paul wrote to the Christians at Thessalonica:
Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. (2Thessalonians 3:6)
[I]f any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. (2Thessalonians 3:14-15)Can you imagine(?) the Apostle Paul writing to the Thessalonian church something like the following:
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, unto the church of the Thessalonians, grace and peace be unto you. Now I have written unto you, brethren, that ye should strive to avoid giving offense in any thing, and to preserve the unity of your fellowship at all costs. The elders which are among you, I admonish to say nothing at all about the occasional festivities at the Colosseum. Although divisions within the church may be expected, yet they must not be exposed; (the Lord, which knoweth the hearts, judgeth every man according to his works). Therefore, let no one judge another for his attendance at the games; but let every man's own conscience be his guide. Our salvation resteth not upon what we watch, nor upon what we wager, but upon what we believe. The church-growth principles which ye have learned of us, do with all thine heart; and your labors shall be greatly rewarded. Salute the poor which are among you: whose sacrificial giving is well spoken of by all the Apostles which are at Jerusalem; whose ministries owe much to the selfless example of the saints at Thessalonica. Farewell.Hmm. That actually sounds a lot like a typical Sunday morning sermonette at the Grace Apostate Church.
