perspective

Sometimes, the way you look at things can make all the difference in the world.  In the case I want to discuss herein, the way you look at certain things (which I will describe) is very likely to make the difference, literally, between life and death ~ for, possibly, many people.

how deep is the pit?

I started playing piano when I was seven years old.  I was composing my own works by age 10 and, by age 15, I could perform a number of works by classical composers, from memory.  In later years, I built a recording studio, where I wrote and produced a lot of good Christian music.  I still play keyboards and sing (mostly in the privacy of my own home).  But I very rarely listen to any (other) music, anymore~especially "Christian" music.  I simply can't bear to hear the empty (if not blasphemous) lyrics and worldly style of the majority of songs in that genre.  Still, I was shocked by what I stumbled upon while doing some unrelated research . . . .

making way for the new faith

Barely a generation ago, practically every university in America required a course of study in "Western Civilization," as part of its core curriculum.  The idea then being that the values and history of Western Civilization were well worth preserving and perpetuating.

what are "rights"? (revised)

The pop-goddess Angelina Jolie has the phrase, "know your rights," prominently tattooed on her backside: as if everybody knows what that means . . . .

look up, and lift up your heads

"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh."  (Luke 21:28)

In the above verse of Scripture, there is an explicit and proximate (close) relationship said to exist between the occurrence of certain "things" ~ and our "redemption," that is to say, the Rapture.

the deadly TULIP (part 5)

The final letter in the T.U.L.I.P. acronym, the letter 'P,' stands for "perseverance of the saints."  But it doesn't really mean what Bible-believing Christians may think that it means.

the deadly TULIP (part 3 - re-numbered)

(This post is out of sequence in the series.  I inadvertently skipped over the letter 'L,' and identified that essay as #3 ~ which I have since re-numbered as #4, and this one is now #3.)

The letter 'L' in the T.U.L.I.P. acronym stands for "limited atonement," which in Calvinism means that Jesus Christ did not actually die for the sins of the whole world ~ as the Bible clearly says that he did:

the deadly TULIP (part 4 - re-numbered)

Next up, the letter I, which stands for "irresistible grace."  That doctrine simply means that no one is capable to resist the grace of God.  According to Calvinism, however, the grace of God is only extended to a limited number of people ("the elect").  And every soul to whom the grace of God is extended, has no other choice but to receive that grace and so be saved.  But just like every other doctrine of Calvinism, "irresistible grace" flies in the face of the plain teachings of Scripture.

the deadly TULIP (part 2)

We come now to the second letter in the T.U.L.I.P. acronym, the letter 'U,' which stands for the Calvinistic doctrine of "unconditional election."  Unconditional: "without any conditions whatsoever."  None.  Zero.  Calvinism claims that God has chosen only certain individuals to be saved, and that both the choosing as well as the ultimate salvation of those individuals is absolutely "unconditional."  Nothing that those individuals can do~either good or bad~has any affect upon the outcome of their own salvation.  Then, why did Christ have to die?

the deadly TULIP (part 1)

Jesus said that if we will continue in his Word, then are we his disciples indeed; and, we shall thus know the truth ~ which shall make us free (John 8:32).  In this essay, we will examine the truth of God which frees us from the deceitful and dangerous doctrines of . . .

flee from the wrath to come

Lot and two of his daughters, fleeing the destruction of Sodom

The anger of the Lord is burning white hot against this evil generation in America.  Very soon, and very suddenly, unimaginable destruction is coming.  America has long been under judgment, whereby God has sought to bring this nation to repentance:

the Great Departing

Everywhere in America it's as if the Church of Jesus Christ is "on the outside looking in," so to speak, desperately wanting to be a part of society's institutions and programs, not only because that oftentimes seems desirable, but because that appears needful in order to survive.  As a matter of fact, submission to a crushing burden of laws and regulations is imperative, if one intends not to suffer the cruelties of this wicked American society.

the Millennium and beyond

In my last essay ("The Millennial Kingdom ~ and the Rapture"), I wrote the following:
"After the soon-coming Rapture of the Church, natural human life is going to go on throughout the Tribulation, and throughout the Millennial Kingdom Age.  But after the Rapture of the Churchnever again (according to my very best understanding of Scripture) shall the gift of immortality be conferred upon any (more) human beings.  God shall continue to have dealings with the human race; but those dealings shall then (after the Rapture) take on a very different nature."

the Millennial Kingdom ~ and the Rapture

In order to better understand the Rapture of the Church, it is very important to understand certain things about the soon-coming Millennial Kingdom Age.

storm

We are in the midst of cataclysmic social upheaval, which is leading us inexorably into a storm of unimaginable proportion.

5/1/16

purpose of the Tribulation

What is the PURPOSE of the so-called Tribulation ~ which in Scripture is called "the day of the Lord"?  According to most mainstream prophecy teachers, at least one purpose of the day of the Lord involves (as one well known TV personality put it,) "the greatest Revival in the history of time."  That idea lately appears as the cornerstone of mainstream Bible prophecy teaching; at least, amongst those who dominate mainstream mass media involving so-called Christian television programs.
