the greatest danger

The greatest danger in the world today is not thermonuclear weapons, nor terrorism, nor New Age occultism, nor secular humanism, nor even corrupt politicians.  But the Word of God repeatedly warns that the greatest danger in the world, at the end of the Church Age, would consist of
DECEPTION IN THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH--whereby untold multitudes shall be slain, spiritually (see Matt. 24:4; 2Tim 3:1-5; 2Pet 2:1-2; Jude 1:3-4; et al).

By its very nature, deception is intentionally hard to discern.  It is disguised, hidden in the midst of what otherwise appears to be good or, at least, acceptable.  Today, so many things have come to be 'acceptable', in the churches, that would have been anathema a generation or two ago.  Christ himself characterized the End-Time Church as 'Sardis' ("thou has a name that thou livest, and art dead"; Rev. 3:1), and as 'Laodicea' ("I will spue thee out of my mouth"; Rev. 3:16).  The great Apostasy, foretold in 2Thessalonians, is now very far advanced; its effects are pervasive and powerful.  Mainstream Protestant denominations are apostate: deeply corrupted in ways, and in a measure, that very few churchgoers are aware of.  The Apostasy has overtaken even most independent churches in America.  DECEPTION is in full flower.  Yet, God still has watchmen who are sounding the alarm -- in the churches.  "Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God" (James 4:4).  "Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues" (Rev. 18:4).
