Franklin Graham: his father's son

Who is Franklin Graham?  He is the son of the late Billy Graham who was the famous Southern Baptist icon and unofficial champion of the Roman Catholic Church.  Franklin Graham is his father's son.

It was recently reported (here) that "Evangelist Franklin Graham is urging Roman Catholic Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York to take a stand against abortion by excommunicating [Governor of New York] Cuomo".  It thus appears that Franklin Graham believes that the Roman Catholic Church's practice of excommunication has real meaning; Graham believes that to be put out of the Catholic Church, is a punitive measure.

In that same article above referenced, Franklin Graham further reported to have said:
"I call on my friend Cardinal Dolan to take a moral stand.  Whether it moves the governor's calloused heart or not, it will have a great impact on not only the church in New York, but on the church worldwide."
Notice, that Graham's statement makes no distinction between the Christian Church and the the Roman Catholic Church but, rather, his statement implies that there is but one, universal Church.  The word "Catholic," in fact, means "universal."  Yet, even Catholics distinguish themselves from all things "Christian".  (Ask any Catholic the question, "Are you a Christian?"  They will answer, "I am a Catholic.")  By addressing an official of the Roman Catholic Church (Cardinal Dolan) as if he possessed real spiritual authority; and, by implying that there is but one Church in the earth and that the Roman Catholic Church is at least part of that: Franklin Graham very clearly communicated the idea that the Roman Catholic Church: a) has legitimate spiritual authority; and, b) is "the church worldwide," as Graham said.

And if you don't understand the implications of what I have thus far written, then I strongly suggest you should do some serious research related to the doctrines and practices of the Roman Catholic Church.

Franklin Graham is a good friend of theirs ~ as was Graham's father.
