"Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God...the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: but the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. (2 Peter 3:3-7) The Bible reveals that, whereas the Old World was destroyed by a global Flood of water; the world that now exists shall be destroyed by fire. Moreover, the Bible tells us exactly when that is going to occur, namely, upon the arrival of what is called, in Scripture, "the day of the LORD". Do we know anything about when that awful "day" will come? YES! we do! In fact, I wrote a book about it (here). Believe me, the day of the LORD is now ready to break upon the world with such fury of God's wrath that men will cry out "to the mountains and rocks":"Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of [Christ]; for the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?" (Revelation 6:16-17)
Do you want to see how the Bible describes that coming judgment in action?
"Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; a day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of coulds and of thick darkness...: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it.... A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them." (Joel 2:1-3)
Though I've written about it before, yet I will here reiterate a most important truth: God's anger is burning white-hot against this evil generation. How do I know this? Consider the case of the Flood. More than one-hundred years before the Flood was unleashed, God commanded Noah to build the Ark. Which means that God had already by then determined to destroy the world by water ~ more than a century before the judgment came! Oh, but wait. The Bible says God is "slow to anger", and "plenteous in mercy". Which means that well before He commanded Noah concerning the Ark, God's anger had for a long time been growing hotter and hotter against that generation. If, as we now firmly believe: the coming of the Lord is truly imminent; and, when Christ comes, he is coming with his saints in the fullness of the wrath of God to judge the world; then, that MUST mean that God's anger has been kindling for a very long time against this present generation. It is a true fact.
So ~ (as I have been urging and warning for now quite some time,) WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO? I say, it is either Revival . . . or wrath. Revival is NOT AUTOMATIC! Revival will NEVER COME, UNLESS, SOME WILL EARNESTLY SEEK GOD FOR IT.
There is lately a turning, in my own heart: ~ no, not away from pleading for Revival. But there is a turning in my soul to seek God for Judgment. I am more and more desiring Judgment. The flood of evil in the world must be dealt with; it must be stopped. But the ONLY way that can be done is through God. BE WARNED: God is moving in his people....
