"And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; and the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places." (Revelation 6:12-14)
In my book, The Seven Seals in Prophecy and in History, I went to great lengths to prove from Scripture that the Rapture shall happen in connection with the opening of the Sixth Seal. A number of other, cosmic events - above described - shall also occur at that same time. In my book, moreover, I referred to those cosmic events, collectively, as "the Cosmic Sign". I published that book about seven years ago. Ever since then I have searched to understand the true meaning of those cosmic events. On the face of it, the text seems to suggest that those events should be taken literally and not figuratively.
But what can it mean that the sun shall become "black as sackcloth of hair"? Surely, that can not refer to such a comparatively mundane event as a solar eclipse ~ especially, given the context. And the moon shall become "as blood"? A few years ago, a theory involving a series of so-called "blood moons" was suggested as having prophetic implications. Perhaps. But neither lunar nor solar eclipses seem to fit the characterization of those heaven-and-earth-shaking events described in Revelation 6. No, it has to be something else....
As I said, it has been a long search. But in every field of my research, over the past several months, I have grown increasingly confident I have at last found the answers! Though what I discovered seems almost too incredible to believe! For that reason, I suppose it will be better for me to bring you stepwise along a path similar to that which led me to my recent discoveries....
Let us begin, then, by considering the real nature of the Cosmos. It will first be necessary to remove certain mental blocks from our thinking. Most people, probably, take for granted that the Sun is going to shine, today and tomorrow, just as it has for the past several thousands, or maybe even millions, (some say billions,) of years. But where does such a notion come from? I would argue that it comes from several generations of Evolutionary indoctrination. The Universe ~ say the Evolutionists ~ has evolved by very slow, incremental steps, over many billions of years, to become what it is today. Thus, on the whole, the Cosmos is not very different now than it was, say, a mere few million years ago. Evolutionists believe that the forces which may today be observed in the Cosmos, are pretty much the same as they ever have been; a concept which is called, the doctrine or the principle of Uniformitarianism. Uniformity. Sameness. Change does occur throughout the Cosmos, albeit very gradually, most often imperceptibly.
And because that Evolutionary ideas have pervaded the world, in such degree that those ideas now serve as the bedrock of contemporary thought, therefore, (mental block #1): Uniformitarianism is the predominant worldview (whether knowingly or unwittingly) of the vast majority of the world's inhabitants. That is why the suggestion, that the Sun is going to become "black as sackcloth", appears unbelievable, absurd even. No one has ever heard of, much less has anyone actually seen, such a thing! Indeed, such an idea ~ Science would tell us ~ were utterly preposterous!
Which brings me to address a second ~ and also a third ~ mental block, viz.,
(mental block #2): Knowledge of true history has been distorted and otherwise obscured, especially, by decades of purposeful manipulation of state-run 'education' systems. As the (intended) result, exceedingly little historical knowledge exists amongst the general public. Who, then, knows whether anyone, at any time in history, may have witnessed unusual ~ even catastrophic ~ events associated with cosmic phenomena? As a matter of fact, true history (as well as archaeology and geology) abundantly reveals that our Solar System has from time to time been subjected to world-changing, catastrophic events, many of which events occurred within the timeframe of human experience.
(mental block #3): "Science" has become the False Religion of the masses ~ with great emphasis on "false". Not that Science, as such, is false. Rather, in this Age of lawlessness and deception, a generation grossly corrupted by human pride and greed, (misguided) Science has preeminently been used as a weapon wherewith to overthrow all belief in God the Creator, and to raise up in His stead deified Man. I say, then, though "Science would tell us..." that the Sun has absolutely zero chance of "becoming black as sackcloth" anytime soon; nevertheless, it is most assuredly going to happen. And that very soon.
How do I know this? Because, the Bible tells me so. So does history. And geology. And archaeology....
A true perspective of the real nature of our Solar System ~ and, consequently, a better understanding regarding the truth of much of Bible prophecy ~ may appear only to those who cast off the blinders of ignorance, false ideas, and misplaced trust in the priests of The Academy (the Religion of Science). That will require a good deal of courage . . . and diligent study to know the truth.
