In the last handful of years or so, there has arisen a widespread phenomenon involving so-called "preppers".  In a nutshell, "preppers" are folks who believe in the venerable Boy Scouts motto: "Be Prepared".  All the time.  For anything.  There is no standard by which to judge whether or not someone is a prepper.  It is not so much about how well outfitted or how well supplied one is, which serves to identify who is, and who is not, a prepper.  To be a prepper, is more of a mindset than it is anything else.  Preppers self-identify.  Thus, a 93-year old man who grew up during the Great Depression and learned to never throw anything away, and to somehow make use of everything, would likely not think of himself as a prepper.  Whereas, a much younger fellow with a 9mm pistol, a backpack, and a two cases of energy bars, might say he is a prepper.

But it is the "prepper" phenomenon, as such, which speaks something very, very important to us -- if we have ears to hear. . . .

Seeking God for Revival has become the foremost thing in my mind.  In the course of which, I continually give a great deal of thought, not only to the Word of God concerning Revival, but also to the present condition of the world.  The need of Revival seems overwhelming, in the extreme.  Were it not for the fact that God has given us His Word, the situation truly would be hopeless.  It is nothing short of astonishing, to me, that the great majority of professing Christians do not yet demonstrate any real comprehension of the desperate condition of the Church and of the world.  How, then, can they be concerned enough about the need of Revival, to be moved to travail in prayer?

Today, as I have been contemplating the pervasive madness (insanity) throughout society, I happened upon a website which addresses the fact that, in Scripture, insanity is shown to be a judgment of God upon sinners.

revealing Antichrist -- part 2

WHY is Antichrist coming?  That is a question not often asked.  Is God sending him?  No.  God sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, to be the Savior of the world.  And Christ said that he did not come to destroy men's lives but to save them.

But the world did not, and still does not, want Christ.  Nevertheless, the world does want a savior, of sorts.  Jesus said, in John 5:43, "I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive".  The world, in other words, will "receive" Antichrist.  They want him to come.  The whole world wants a savior--as long as that savior is not the Christ of God.

Muslims want their Mahdi.  New Agers want their Super-man.  Buddhists, their Fifth Buddha.  Hindus are looking for their Tenth Avatar.  And Satanists want...

opening the bottomless pit

It is nearly impossible to find words to adequately express the wickedness that is now being unleashed in the world.  The only thing that comes to my mind, which even begins to convey a sense of the demonic nature of so many current events, is what the Bible describes in the book of the Revelation, as the 'opening of the bottomless pit'.  In truth, the bottomless pit has not yet been 'opened'--at least, not yet in the manner in which it shall very soon be opened so as to allow sky-darkening hordes of demons to fill the earth for many months, as scorpion-like, flying creatures (Revelation 9:1-11).  Still, the womb of Hell itself seems to be rapidly dilating, in the process of birthing the so-called Tribulation: an epoch of several years' duration which, Christ said, would be a time of "great tribulation [trouble], such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be" (Matthew 24:21).

"...the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;

a day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds

and of thick darkness,

as the morning spread upon the mountains:

a great people

and a strong;

there hath not been ever the like,

neither shall be any more after it,

The above passage is from Joel chapter 2, verses 1a thru 3a (without any omissions).  I stylized the text in the fashion shown, in order to make the reading - and thus the meaning - of the passage clear.  It is best thought of as though there were two different voices: one speaking the words in the left-justified margin, and the other speaking the words which are right-justified (and less visible).  An analysis follows:

the meaning of the Rapture

Although much has been written about the Rapture of the Church, yet, much of what has been written is wrong.  Neither the nature nor the timing of the Rapture has been well understood, though a lot has been written concerning those aspects. But in this short essay, I want to discuss the meaning of the Rapture; which, in the range of my studies, I have found very little that deals specifically with that.
